EncryptoChat™

The EncryptoChat software has been designed to provide a secure, multilingual "chat room" environment for use in the class room. One ideal use would be in language classes between students and their foreign, exchange school, correspondents. It is especially suitable for participating in the government international school twinning programme, where it is envisaged that every UK school will have twinned within the next three years.

System Overview :

You run the EncryptoChat ™ Server software on any of your machines that are connected to the Local Area Network and if linking up between establishments also a have a connection to the Internet.

• You allocate the User Name for each student you wish to be able to use the chat room and you are in full control of the chat server.

• You allocate a password for each student to use when joining the system.

• The chat messages are encrypted as they travel around the netttpreventing unauthorised viewing by third parties.

• Internet Relay Chat packets are not used, so any chat room filters you use can be left running during EncryptoChat™ sessions.

• Small bandwidth requirement enabling link ups with establishments still needing to use dial up connections.

• The software can be used between several establishments simultaneously. Just between your own rooms, or within a single room.

• Multi Lingual character support. - Western , Eastern European, Baltic States, Cyrillic and Greek characters all available.

• Every message sent by the participants can be monitored by staff at the server screen and if wished, logged.

• System can work with routers using Network Address Translation (NAT) between public and private ip addresses.

Each student connected to the EncryptoChat™ server will need to run the EncryptoChat™ Client software.

• So far this is available in English (GB), French, German, Spanish and Danish versions which can all inter-communicate.

• EncryptoChat Client allows the student to log on to the EncryptoChat Server.

• EncryptoChat Client allows one to one, or all users to all users, conversations to be typed and read.

• Mouse click special characters to include into text - no need to remember alt number sequences.

• Easily select outgoing and incoming languages.
