Take the Southend Road from Chelmsford and turn off the dual carraigeway at the Wickford exit. At the roundabouts follow the signs for South Woodham Ferrers. You will arrive on the A132 .Follow the B1012 until you see the right turn on the nasty corner, it is not signed North Fambridge but waterside (I think). Leave the car at the pub not down here, the flood gates should be shut anyway, however you may be able to get along the bank shown on the right, the view is from the seaward side of the pub looking back towards the flood gates.
The flood gates are just past the pub shown below the blue notice is shown bigger underneath.
