Find the car park (signed) in Heybridge and leave by the steps at the opposite end from the entrance up to the waterside. From the mapping you will see you and the carpark are below flood level and for some considerable distance to escape, so leave this location early unless you arrive by boat!
Just past the Old Ship Pub and to the right is the sea gate
Somewhere near the concrete is safest so you don't accidently walk into the deep water near the gates you will find this just past the pub and slightly left.
